  8. Great site guys, shame about the pics of the ugly guy with the banjo (hopefully ugliness isn’t hereditary!!) Stay tuned for some funny stories from the house of Stacey. See you again soon guys

  9. Come to Swanage this weekend–its great!!! (7th Sept 2006)

    Comment by Phil Kelly — May 3, 2007 @ 4:13 pm

  10. Hi again guys. Here is a story from the house of Stacey. On a trip away with the Victory Morris Men to a folk festival (I think it was a festival!!) there was a slight incident involving a foot, a canal path, a pot hole and a broken leg. We all know what these festivals are like, a weekend of drinking and frolics. The incident with the pot hole involved Stacey with a rucksack full of instruments, hence being very top heavy (and not because of the brain!!) On arrival to the A and E department at the local hospital, he was asked if he had been drinking or not, and all the Morris men that had kindly escorted him to the hospital all stated that he had been drinking all day. The small problem being that they where on their way TO the pub at the time, and not one drop of alcohol had passed Stacey’s lips all day. So much for mates!! Must have been hard for Stacey, the promise of a good nights drinking and playing music, only for it to be torn away by a nice quiet stay in hospital! See you soon guys, Nick Son of Stacey

  12. Hi Guys, We saw you for the first time on Saturday November 4th @ the Gipsy Queen.I have a dislike for celtic music and dont like to listen to your cd but wait…………….as a live band you are one of the best we have ever seen…you had the pub rocking on saturday and we will be seeing you on Friday at the Seahorse, Gosport.::We cannot wait, it was the best night out we have had for yonks……IWe will reccomend you wherever we go to make your life as busy as ours.I would like the chance to sing Runaway Train with you, it is one of my fave tunes……Keep on playing guys you will become legends

    Comment by Peter — May 3, 2007 @ 4:14 pm

  13. Last night we had the absolute privilege of witnessing another remarkable performance by a band that is becoming a legend in its own backyard. Then we went to the Fountain and endured the tortured strings of Kelly’s Tattoo. The pleasure appeared to be all theirs. Singer Phil didn’t take kindly to our helpful suggestions of areas to improve and electric violin player (and sometimes a cute little guitar-thingy) was also unimpressed with our constructive criticism. Dominica on the drums however seemed positively delighted at our fashion critique of his marvellous half-time costume transformation (oh baby, baby). As we have come to expect, the band outplayed their welcome by the end of the second song… Actually boys you were great as usual. We do feel that you may have let go your celtic roots and sold out to popular alternatives!! But we are willing to forgive all and will endeavour to be there in our usual supporting role come the Christmas gig. Thanks for a great night – to be sure!

    Comment by Obvious Hecklers — May 3, 2007 @ 4:14 pm

  14. I was at the Fountain on Saturday night and wish to correct the ‘review’ posted by the ‘Obvious Hecklers’. I had a great time and the band outplayed themselves, as they have done each time I have seen them. In particular, I loved the new addition of the dancing girls out front and the fine rendition of London Calling (fiddle really works in that). It was a stomping show that even had Paul ‘arse’ Kennedy’s foot tapping at times (not necessarily to the same beat, but you can’t have everything can you? And even Mr Henna didn’t manage to talk throughout the entire set (dearth of available females, I suspect!) Thanks x

  16. I nipped across the road to the “Seahorse”pub a few weeks ago just for a quick beer , I was unaware that “Kellys Tattoo” were playing that night and I was in for a treat, they were absolutley outstanding ,what an excellent team of musicians and Phils vocals are natural & brilliant a friend of mine “Peter” was invited to sing “runaway train”along with the band and he took me by suprise as well,he was alot better than I expected ,the guys family were there with who I spoke with and the ladies of the family had a brilliant night as well as I am sure they always do ,On Friday they play at the”Jack in the Bush” in Gosport, I can,t wait this time I,m taking some of my friends & family and wer,e going to have a brilliant night with about the best live music I have heard in Gosport .

  18. Endeavouring, as we are, in the same arena, I would like to think of the guys as being good friends. Seen them a couple of times and always on the lookout for where they are playing to come along on a “busmans holiday”!! Hoep to get down to add a friendly face to the crowed, at the Contented Pig

Well done on the website, incidentally, long awaited and very good!

  22. We went to the Railway on Sat night – havent been there for a long time but we knew that you (kelly’s tat that is )were playing, the music was fab we had a really good time and the dancing girls at the front were fab (jen and vicki) The elderly groupy sat on the table at the front – Daffers is a quality bird – we love her – and Jazz her husband has some very good tips for parking in Asda’s car park…

Caroline was asked by hamish ‘fiddling’ mctavish for her fone number but she gave him the wrong one, she did realise this but felt very bad about this…
does this make her a bad person?, she is feeling very guilty about this…
and would be happy to supply him with the correct requiste number at Gosport Festival, but we cannot see when they will be appearing…

in conclusion we had a cracking night – ( i was bolloxed, the bar maid was very very special) the band was fantabulosa -and there isnt enough thrash céilidh in this world…

    flanging brillo pads…absolutley

  23. We felt very sad to hear the news about James earlier this week. Last weekend certain events ensured that he spent the night with the band at Swanage and not in Wimborne. He had a cracking night out and was looking forward to returning to Swanage in September. We feel very privilaged to have had this time with James and he will be fondly remembered

    Love from Joe & Lynn

  24. When I heard about the sudden loss of James I was deeply saddened and shocked, mere words could not express my feelings exactly. James was a very affable lad and will be sadly missed by all who knew him, I feel honoured to have known him.

  29. Hey guys.

I was listening to some music the other night and heard a track that you could do. That is if you’re looking for something new. It’s called Jig a Jig and it was a hit in 1970 for East of Eden. No words just music. Good chance for a rest for Phil!

It was just a thought. Love to you Annette (again)
